My personal captures of my Fender Prosonic I currently have 4 variations for you to try, with differences in eq, gain response, and dynamic range. Using different but subtle settings and mic placements, there’s certain to be a pair in this pack that suits you! These were captured exactly the way I would track with my real amps, mic’d with a shure 545sd and into an api preamp, no frills!

Input trim is a huge factor when using tonex, and my method for dialing that in is to set it just so that it isn’t clipping with your loudest gainstage and wet effects turned on. If you clip the front end on tonex, it’s no different than clipping a mic pre. You’ll just have a wall of digital distortion right before your amp, which is not what you want. I have mine set at -2.5 and just use the gain knob within the capture to taste (which accomplishes the same thing as cranking the input trim, without the artificial clipping).

I start dialing in my captures by setting everything flat, and just using the presence/depth controls to match the top end and low end qualities, from there you can use the super powerful eq in tonex to your liking. I will also include all of my tonex presets that have my individual settings on the captures.
